Travel Tips
Updates for passengers:
Effective immediately (August 10, 2006) by orders of homeland security: No liquids, gels, or lotions or similar items in carry-on luggage. This includes items such as beverages, hairspray, toothpaste and shampoo. These items must now be placed in checked luggage or they will be discarded. The TSA will remove these items from traveler’s carry-on luggage at airport security checkpoints and at the gate.
Contact IBG Travel for more information on the new TSA Security requirement.
New Passport Requirements
Effective December 31, 2006 the U.S. Government’s Intelligence Reform Bill requires passports for all air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda. Don’t risk disrupting your travel plans! If you are planning travel for 2007 or beyond, avoid the rush and give yourself plenty of time to apply for one. Once you’ve got a passport in hand, the whole world is yours to explore.
U.S. Citizens
For information on obtaining or renewing a passport, visit the State Department’s Website. (http://www.travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html).
Non-U.S. Citizens
You will need a valid passport and, in some cases, a visa. If you live in the U.S., you will also need the original copy of your Alien Registration Card (ARC or “Green Card”) and any other documentation the countries on your itinerary require due to your alien status.
